Here are the last two “X” private carrier roads for the collection.
One side I did in EFCX. The other side is USLX.
Nice effort everyone.
A special comment for Jim M...your wife should be an archetectural model maker Jim, if she isn't one already. She has an eye for this work that's very special. My compliments to her.
Bob
I think Patrick has been asking for this.
I’m not sure why?
I guess this falls under Scenery, LOL!
All looks very good this week. Jim M, your wife's building is beautiful. Excellent eye for architectural detail.
My head has not been in this for the last couple of weeks. Here is some progress on completion of the Coal tipple.
Side project, this additional shelving display.
The on-site power plant is the last building to complete. It takes awhile to get through some general assembly, paint and detail work before the (4) wall go together. There are 23 windows and two doors.
Each window is a press and stick laser cut sash that requires paint (white), the glass has to be custom cut from clear styrene sheet. The edge of the window, part of the wall panel, has to be paint trim color before window piece are added. Exterior trim is 3 pieces, a halo trim around the window, (1) piece that is laser cut, add a header and sill. I've done BTS kits where there were more window piece to assemble.
Have a great weekend everyone
Mike
Great work this week everybody! I have nothing to post.
Jim, How did Leslie stamp the date in the peak stone?
Dave
What a special week of work.
Jim, your wife's work on the stone/clapboard siding building is really first-rate.
SIRT, that is one beautifully finished box car.
Pete, the views through the windows are great. Did you scale down a real newspaper about the rocket to the moon blowing up or did you make the paper?
Mike, those BTS kits are great and your construction is great. Can't wait to see it painted.
Vulcan, not bad for four weeks. Nice chimney
Patrick, beautiful work so far on the coal tipple. Should be a beauty.
Jerrman
Vulcan, did you make the bricks with the paper like you did on those buildings you posted awhile back? If so, I don't think 4 days is slow at all. I'm really impressed at how uniform the brick sizes are, that is really difficult. I've tried to make a brick walkway and it's taken me about a year.
Yes, it's the paper. 4 days is a long time to me.
I always enjoy this thread the most each week. What to say, great job everyone; I am enjoying watching your progress on the projects shown here this week.
One feature I want on my layout is a drilled and blasted mountain like those on I81 in PA. I have found a location for it now. It will be on each side of the tracks at a tunnel entry. I finished one side. Carved pink foam and acrylics. Here it is along with some shots of the prototype (I81 near Hazleton, PA).
Nice pictures everyone. This is a model of a tanks that has an internal floating roof for storing gasoline. The model is in 1/4 scale, and equates to a diameter of sixty feet and a height of forty feet.
Pete, the views through the windows are great. Did you scale down a real newspaper about the rocket to the moon blowing up or did you make the paper?
My layout is supposed to be ca. 1958, so I did a Google image search for "1958 Newspaper". That was the first one that came up. I guess it was a real paper. You can find copies in several places on my layout. I figure everybody was reading the same thing that day, right?

WOW!! Very impressive work by all.
Another slow week for me. Did get the chimney done, only took 4 days.
Don't worry, Fred. Putting up that many brick does take time. Just posting a real frontal picture of you was work enough. Now I can understand all your posts from the last many years.
I really do enjoy all your work as I watch for it always.
Pennsy484... I was thinking of doing the same kind of stone cuts. I like what you have started. Thanks for posting.
Dennis

And here i thought you forgot about me. Yes i requested to see 3-4 of your works of art connected together in the yard, because I watch almost everyweek, the new ones being done, and always wondered : what is doing with all these marvelous cars hes making?, wondered how theyd look in the yard together ready to get pulled ! Thanks
Mike ,What an excellent job! That is definately gonna be a magnificint piece on the layout.
Avanti,Really creative and detailed.Love the blinds and the part about all the town reading the daily news.
Vulcan, the most realistic chimney ive ever seen.Very Nice.
Jim, You my freind are a lucky man! LOL
Pennsy, wow looks identical, great job, cant wait to see it on the layout.
Captainman, I can see 3 different scenarios in that scene. 1) the engineers just got off work and their wifes are picking them up after a long day.2) They brought the engine to a screaching hult after seeing some eye candy in the parking lot.3) The engineer sees his New corvette in the parking lot but not his wife and hes lookin for her.LOL
Jim P- you are a man of so many talents, thanks for the latest article in OGR as well as the cool rock arch and pinnicles.
Graz- Master of the industry buildings and tanks.Love your work.
Transman, what did you use for the pipe? Looks good.
Kunda; The awning on the building is terrific.Did you make that?I also like the wall around the flag ,very great scene.
Mrrctech: Thats some fine painting there!turning out to be a great scene! I know very little about takin pics but If youtry the pic without a flash it might help to bring out more of the great colors you used.Great to see an engine coming across there!
Lionelman: I have the same gas station, i liked it cause it has glass block in the front. I bet that really looks good at night with the 2 neon signs together.
Billsr: Off to a great start, i think it is gonna be great.
Alot of nice stuff this week
View my home layout in progress:
Patrick
That's various Plastruc tubing sizes
I use mostly TB-8, + 6,and all that various bend's that go with them.
Jim, You my friend are a lucky man! LOL
Patrick, you're right but it has nothing to do with her modeling skills.
