Long time viewer...first time SSS post.

In the process of building a yard air compressor shack with small work shed for a rail construction contractor.  It started with the ITLA brick utility building, with custom laser windows and doors.

The building will be adjacent to a three track yard and will be used to service a GP15, Dash 8-40B, and some MoW cars.

Plans to add more "junk" inside include a fire extinguisher, ladder, & 50 gallon drums. As you can see, I placed some tool cases and "cardboard boxes" (fuel filters, brake shoes?) inside the shed.  Air, AC power and a water spigot are planned trackside

Service trucks will take care of fueling, oil, and welding.

Appreciate input on other things one might need to do some basic locomotive and railcar maintenance.

Yes Pete I’ve played lots of games of Hangman but never thought about wood pieces. 😉

None of my buildings are tall enough to meet the safety standards. So I’m not required to have fire escapes.  I don’t think.
Of course I could revisit those requirements or have a meeting with Peter soon.

This week I’ve be involved with wiring the Lionel Davis House and figuring out what to do about my z4000 tripped breaker.  Repair or buy a replacement.

A good week to everyone…

I started this project about 4 years ago. Just glued up the basic parts and set it on the layout. Spent this week getting it almost complete. The kit provided a styrene tube for a chimney. I just ordered up a brick one and found hopefully enough peel & stick shingles to replace the tarpaper provided in the kit.

I painted the siding with a base coat of Scalecoat 1 CN Gray. In 4 years it had plenty of time to dry. I then used Tamiya Dull Red lacquer that was thinned.  Kept randomly dipping the brush in thinner to change the look of the paint. For the bare wood. I purchased a bottle of Vetero Shadow Gray weathering solution at the Springfield MA show from Bollinger Edgerly Trains. I really liked this product for aging wood. The look varies with how much you apply.

Once it’s on the layout I’ll add some final details and perhaps a partial interior.

My Sunday morning train layout friend, and former private French horn student, Ms. Zora Maya Keith has been an incredible asset as I try to get my layout back into working order. She is an ace painter. She really loves to paint.

Though not in the same league as the rest of the regular posts on this thread, below is Zora Maya's latest contribution to the cause. She has done the detail painting of a Plasticville switch tower into Pennsylvania Railroad colors. She has a really steady hand, a good eye for color and a lot of patience.

These were backlogged kits I had for years…….all new construction has firewall protection and internal sprinkler systems…….
