Railroad Yard Burn Barrel –
Here’s a nice little 1 hour Saturday morning project.
You can just do one as needed or all at once.

I am working on this new flat. The larger one. The roof top sign is on order, I am working on the docks and the interior lights and it should be ready soon.
Great job everyone!
I really look forward to this post every Sunday!

No new work to show this week, but a friend and I spent a couple of days taking layout photos for a coming article. Here are a few of them. Click on a photo to see a larger version or right-click and choose "open in new window" or "open in new tab" to see a full-screen version.
A Pennsy M1a 4-8-2 (3rd Rail) leans into the superelevation at the apex of Horseshoe Curve.
An old N1s 2-10-2 (3rd Rail) is westbound out of Annville yard passing through the factory district as a second hand ex-N&W Y3 2-8-8-2, Pennsy class HH1 (Lionel) passes overhead. Buildings with tall water towers are kitbashed Korber while the brick and concrete buildings are scratchbuilt from foamcore and Masonite with Korber windows.
Action inside the Diesel engine house centers on a Fairbanks-Morse H10-44 switcher, Pennsy class FS10 (MTH). Also visible is the nose of a Lima transfer diesel, PRR class LS35 (MTH). The engine house is a kitbash of 2 old IHC kits, figures are Arttista and Woodland Scenics and the work shelves and clutter are from Model Tech Studios.

Nice! can you tell me what did you use for the brick detail on those buildings? Is it embossed paper or thin plastic sheets?
Nice work this week guys!
can you tell me what did you use for the brick detail on those buildings?
The brick is Plastruct "Rough Brick" sheets cut to size. Mortar lines show up much better on their rough brick as opposed to the regular brick sheets. Thanks for the compliment!
Excellent work everyone.
Hope I'm not too late for the party. I've been working on a blast furnace. I got a little more done this evening.
Dave
Dave,
The blast furnace and the associated buildings look fantastic.

Bob, when I grow up I am going to make backdrop buildings like that. Between those and the one in the Two Rail forum the other day, I am stare at those details for a long time.
Al - Huge models, I dont know if I could figure out where to start. You must have Shares in Plastruct.
Patrick and Vulcan's interiors - well I am not sure my eyes could keep up with that detail or my fingers for that matter. Excellent.
SIRT keeps making me go back to the junk parts box I have. I need some barrels that nice.
Well I am working on a corner that is really in the middle of Lionel accessories.
Here is some progress for today from this morning's photo. I figured out that my Lionel Power Poles can be chopped up for other uses. I have 600 LEDs in the mail, Signs, figures and some detail parts more work to be done.
WOW...GREAT WORK BY ALL. Thanks for sharing your work.
