Here's mine. It's the next piece for the refinery that I'm going to scratch build. It's an essential part of chemical plants that have condensers somewhere in the process. It's the cooling tower. After searching the web for a likely candidate, I found this array. I'm going to model just one unit since my plant is so small.

Here's what I drew up on SketchUp yesterday. The model doesn't use those fancy louvers seen on many towers and just uses screening. I will have enough caged ladder stock left over, I think, to build the one on this unit. It will require piping and lighting, but otherwise is easy to build.

I even designed the motor/fan drive which I'll try to include in the build.

Now all I have to do is build it. This will happen when all the kit units are complete and ready to install. It was fun drawing those V-belts. There were none on SU's 3D warehouse that I could drop in. I was able to find that cool looking fan there and the motor and pulleys. I had to resize all of it. The caged ladder also comes from the 3D warehouse.

Really nice cooling tower. Fwiw, too bad you couldn't find a comparable computer fan to install and blow out some water vapor or smoke unit.

My vote is for Miles to model the fan, belt and motor so that they all rotate functionally. Then you could hide a small real fan inside the structure that would blow air upward, making the model fan assembly rotate.

Easy for me to say.

Not sure I'm going that route, but I do want to get a fire-flickering orange LED and some cotton to put at the top of the flare stack that's also slated as an add-on for this Plastruct "kit". An old, small computer/laptop fan could provide the air. It's the smoke part that I'm not so happy about. It's going to be far from the viewer being on the back portion of the layout. At 10 feet away it will just look busy back there.

You can also get those inexpensive little ultrasonic mist generators. This one is complete with LEDs:
