Here are some quick photos of ATSF 2916:
More to follow. So far, I am impressed. Definitely an impressive locomotive.

I didn't realize you were a 2 rail guy. Pick out a consist on the link I gave in the 3RS forum and start looking for PRB Santa Fe heavyweights that show up from time to time. You will be able to build a nice train. Great looking engine!
Thanks so much for posting those photos of this model. Sunset really did a fine job!
I really like the layout that it displayed on. Especially that Santa Fe styled turntable.

Especially that Santa Fe styled turntable.
I agree nice layout and would you mind telling a bit about the turntable. I'm obsessed with the desire of having a turntable like yours. Super job!
Boy is that a beauty, they hit a home run on it. I really like that trestle. Thanks for posting.
Very impressive steam locomotive.
Saw it in person yesterday, the photos don't do the model justice. Its more beautiful in person and running.
The turntable was built many years ago by a former member using plans from Model Railroader. It also has a very nicee indexing system that makes it a joy to operate. It's always a hit with the visitors.
The wooden trestle was actually built by a former member at his home, upside down on his work bench, and then brought to the club and installed. It was a perfect fit.
The only thing that could make the locomotive better would be to install a sound decoder with a massive speaker in the tender. There is definitely plenty of space in there to get some nice bass response. Well, that and not having the coupler screw holes stripped out at the factory. But, at least it's an easy fix.
That's a very attractive model. The layout is looking good, too.
It's a fun layout to operate, but it may not be long for this world. Declining membership and rising expenses has a habit of killing clubs.
NICE!
Thanks for sharing
The hobby shop where I work and repair trains partime just got open with Sunset and I was able to still order this engine in 2rail. Can't wait to get it. It's a great day and will be even a better day when I get it.
