Dear Fellow Trainees:

The verbiage on the package states the following:

"The SuperStreets(TM) Y Roadway has spring-loaded points which direct the traffic flow.  The spring-loaded points allow traffic to enter the either of the Y's arms and the points remain set in that direction.

So, if a vehicle enters the Y from the left arm it leaves the points to direct the next vehicle entering from the bottom of Y to the left.  A vehicle going through the Y from the right arm leaves the points set for the next vehicle entering from the bottom to turn right.

Use the manual shift bar to direct traffic through either fork."

Has anyone discovered a way to motorize this switch, perhaps with a Z-Stuff DZ-1000 or DZ-2500 Switch Machine?

thanx

Bob,

Not motorized but if you want a vehicle to follow the same route each time, you might look at this thread.  Further down in the thread, my post of 7/28/12 explained how I accomplished going the same route.  Although I looked into using an HO switch machine, I did not get to the point of trying it.

Dear Larry:

Your firetruck is awesome.  I am going to show the video to a retired FDNY friend of mine in hopes it will inspire him to finally start that layout he has been putting off.

I may have some extra Z-Stuff switches hanging around somewhere and will be it a shot, otherwise your spring scenario will do the trick.

Thanx for your quick response.
