Good morning everyone.   Its time for Switcher Saturday again.   Once again I am off to work this morning.  I am seriously looking forward to this outage season being over.  I did however use a vacation day to get to York yesterday.   While I thought the show was a mixed bag, it's still super impressive.

I  caught this K- line action one on of the display layouts:

For the uninitiated,  Switcher Saturday is a weekly thread celebrating the smaller locomotives that do the big work of railroading.   We are always open to all scales and gauges.  Please just follow the ogr tos regarding pictures, and have fun!

See you later folks!

Good morning, yard goat guys!  Your Yardmaster, faced with time and creativity restraints today, decided to go to the archives for an oldie but goodie.

A BMW Isetta has stalled on the tracks.  The crossing tender on duty, fortunately, was able to report the plight of the hapless auto in time to stop UP GP20 no. 475 from pulverizing it.  Some of the bystanders on hand wondered why a wrecker was dispatched to move the microcar when it could easily be pushed off by a couple of kids!

Rumor of the day: “TALES OF THE DOCKSIDER” may return next Saturday!

John

Good morning fellow switcher fans!!   Thanks JHZ 563 for notching out the throttle and getting us started on a work morning!  Glad you and Mrs. Z were able to attend York! Very nice switcher video too!

As is always the case you all have posted some great photos/videos this morning!!

Today on the Free State Junction Railway the company photographer, Seymour Lenz, has spent time down at Butler Junction photographing switcher action coming through and approaching the Junction.  Wishing everyone a happy and safe weekend!!

A B&O SW 9,  in the hole on the far track, giving a N&W J class and her train the mainline.  The nose of 0-8-0 number 75, a C&O switcher, is also in the hole.   Willy Jo Jones and Herbie Lutz don't even notice as they chat it up at the rear of the caboose.

Happy SWSat!

Busy day today with non-train honey-do's and yard work so a couple from the archives.

Glad you were able to get to York @jhz563.

@Steam Crazy John- He started a thread yesterday, which was then deleted late last night. He responded to a few of us who wished him well too. The thread was about his favorite New England RR's but it may have run afoul of the new tightening of the "post to the correct thread" rules.

I love the K-line Plymouth too!

Happy Switcher Saturday. I also miss Melgar`s pictures and comments. I have now pulled out the first of the "city" modules and next week I will have a tunnel installed on which the "city" & industrial landscape will be partly built. Since that landscape is till pretty boring, I prefer to post pictures from the Maine countryside.

Well good morning SwSat fans, like RSJB18 its a busy "spring clean up" day here in Texas as well.  So I will pull from some of my archives.  I don't have any of those K-like Plymouth's but I do LOVE MY BEEPS.   Here are a couple hard at work on the Leonardtown and Savannah.

Here is the Air Force moving some rockets into our defensive positions...still can't trust them "Ruskies".

If the Air Force moves, can the Navy be far behind!

Naturally, moving the more unexciting but absolutely necessary supplies and logistics, the PRR.

Beep PA 2

While on the other side of the pond, our allies in the UK use the Hornby LMS tank engine to get their defenses ready.

Hornby M3 side

Best wishes and hope you all have a great weekend - even if its full of "yard work".

Bob,

My post of April 29, 2002 about New England Railroads and the Lionel 2-6-0 Mogul steam engine 6-38019 was indeed deleted due to posting in the incorrect Forum... It can now be seen at this URL:
