Happy SWSat folks!  Very busy with Mrs. JHZ’s birthday today.

Know that we are home for a bit here’s what I have for today. First is the local industrial rr switcher in its usual parking spot.  “ESPN” isn’t a typo, feel free to look it up for some industrial rr knowledge.A77C9C93-4EF8-4B41-B878-565A76ED36486F7168F0-CD85-43B8-AB83-35AC50229A7F

And here my Mth 0-6-0 switcher waits at  for  one more crew member dashing climb aboard.

Absolutely love that “Maine Central” switcher and exquisite scenery that looks perfectly real.

Arnold: Thank you very much.

Rich, what did you cover your table top with?  That reddish brown looks like it would be a good base for ground foam cover to be added on top of.

Dennis I thought that 0-6-0, , was going to take off.

Johan, I really like the grain shed.  Good job of aging and weathering.

Coach Joe: Thank you, i am glad you like it.

Hello SWSAT friends!!! Great pictures and videos everyone!!   I was up and out early this morning to go to the Great Scale Train Show in Timonium, Md.  LOTS of people there .... whew!!   Great show too!!!  I bought no switchers or locomotives at all ... just a  beautiful K line silver observation car and, Artista figures, and other scenery items.   Perhaps next time a new switcher

Today on the Free State Junction Railway we have shots of a Maryland and Pennsylvania SW1 in the hole as a J class N&W passes by.  Later the Ma&Pa shunts a gondola of junk onto the team track.  IMG_4545IMG_4549IMG_4551IMG_4552IMG_4546IMG_4557IMG_4563IMG_4573IMG_4578IMG_4586IMG_4582IMG_4587IMG_4590IMG_4603IMG_4596IMG_4607IMG_4609

GGD?

those look great!

Thanks.  The B70 next to the wall is a GGD model, and the car farther back along the wall is a Williams B70.  The B70 being pushed by the B28 is MTH.  The car on the middle track is Lionel's generic baggage car which doesn't look anything like a B70 but was handy for the picture.  I really like the Atlas B28 but it is not the smoothest runner.  Here are some more photos of it.

Just put in a sound board and new smoke blower in my newest (used) switcher.  Nice smoke flavor also

Barbecue can make a man hungry. I’m partial to Christmas or pine scented smoke. Cedar would be great too but I’ve never seen that scented smoke fluid.

Actually when we made the smoke unit and smoke fluid at TAS, I tried to make cedar scented fluid.

Everybody thought it smelled like burning electronics.

Well you tried: “A” for effort.

Hey @coach joe - I used a felt fabric material I picked up for cheap at a local fabric store.  It's clearly not a good "base" for building realistic layouts like many guys do, but I'm not that crafty and for this home layout I really wanted something I could just spend time running trains on.  So, it's going to be more like a layout you'd find at a LHS store than a realistic layout.  Another plus, it seems to dampen the sound of the Lionel FasTrack, which is good too.

Hey Everyone, thanks again as always for sharing, see you next week!

Rich, that is exactly what I was thinking, more of a display layout feel as opposed to the very realistic work being done by many of our fellow forumites.

Dangerwildmike, the way your switcher took off in reverse on your ceiling layout I thought we were about to witness a calamitous derailment that would have made all your work for naught.
