Boy Scout Model Train Day!!!!!  Boy, they didn't have that when I was in scouts, waaaayyyy back!!

Well, it isn't the same as yours, Rich, but it is a K-Line.

K-line made a lot of those scale 0-4-0s

I am on a NJ Transit bus back to Port Authority after helping prep for the NYSME show this weekend and the next few so here are a few shots I just grabbed while putting in the Sneeze guards. 

A Nice EL EMD. Trying to post before I go through Lincoln Tunnel.

Rich, in another life (that long ago), I had gotten my Railroading merit badge, hope everything works out well. 

Since Rich changed things up, my contribution this week is my B&O Dockside and the "Real Thing"...plus some I-12 class wagon-top cabooses.

SIRT, I love what you've done with the small Lionel switcher. Have you re-powered it? I never use mine because it runs too fast – and unreliably.

YES!!! SWSAT !!!  Great photos guys!!!  Glad I checked out the OGR forum tonight or else I'd been really late to the party by tomorrow morning.  Rich enjoy the scout time!!  

This week on the Free State Junction Railway we have a B&O 18 ton Plymouth moving a BIG HOOK, its crew chatting it up between moves.  We have a brand new Pennsylvania RR 44 tonner on it's first assignment pushing a 50 ton hopper of coal back to the coaling tower.  Finally we have shots of a B&O GP9 two loco consist as it is readied for the road to head up a manifest freight.  Enjoy the weekend!!

I'll be at a "Boy Scout Model Train Show" in Saunders Virginia all weekend (starts early morning tomorrow), so I won't be online much which is the reason for the early post - I hope nobody minds!

My picture this week a K-Line A5 0-4-0 running at the local model railroad club the other night. It's a nice little engine with lots of detail, but I don't run it very often as I find myself using my Lionel B6 (6-18000) when I want to run conventional PRR switcher action, so I'm thinking about putting it up for sale. One of the guys at the club liked it the other day, so maybe I'll work out some sort of trade.  

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend, have some switcher fun and when you get a chance - please post some switcher stuff here!

Rich those K Line A5s are a thing of beauty.

Since 1662 got repowered with a six drivered motor, she donated her side rods to 1656.

Happy SWSAT! NYC S2 8521 is making it’s way through town to switch local industries just beyond. This scene is a work in progress which I hope to bring some level of completion to before the weather makes for outdoor activities!

Great switcher stuff abounds....

The RSJ&B welcomed a new work crane this week to replace old faithful who will now be retired to her rightful place as a shelf queen. The NY Central has donated a 4-wheel crane # 6579, that fits better on the tight confines of the ROW. Here it is being pulled behind my Plymouth # 80.

I spent the past couple days this week rebuilding the brake cylinders and making some other adjustments on our 1927 Plymouth locomotive.  It's got a 1000 cubic inch Climax 6 cylinder engine, which is pretty cool to see and hear running.  It originally served the City of Detroit's Mistersky power plant between 1927 and 1973 moving carloads of coal around the facility.  It's been in Dearborn, MI at Greenfield Village since 1979 where it is used as our shop switcher for moving cold locomotives and occasionally goes out for track work tasks.

I like Plymouths.....

It is VERY nice. I agree. I think it is probably OK with Tom P./MNCW if I say that it is made by a no longer existing  company called Right-Of-Way.

Also that Plymouth at Greenwich Village is very nice. It looks very similar to the K-line engine in most details. I really like the Paint Scheme it is in but the Ford black paint that was offered would maybe be more appropriate considering Greenwich Village was started by Ford. Mine is even in the appropriate black.

 Sorry for the slow response. That was made (supposedly in limited quantities) by Right-Of-Way which has since gone out of business. I agree that it has nice detail, including the rods. When I found a nice one on eBay a few months ago, I lucked out. It produces an amazing amount of smoke, by the way.

The Ford scheme Plymouth is one of my favorite locomotives in my collection.  Although Ford was the founding father of Greenfield Village, this locomotive never operated for Ford.  The Plymouth scheme it wears is more or less the same as the paint job it was delivered from Plymouth with.  The first few months it operated for the City of Detroit, it was under a lease agreement (hence the Plymouth company paint job).  Not too long after the lease began, they purchased it outright.  Our locomotives all represent the railroads they operated for in their service lives, and we try to keep things accurate in that regard.  

RUSTY TRAQUE, that is a great picture. I like the 6 wheel trucks under it. I wonder if it could be done in a kit bash .......Paul

Actually the quantity ordered was 1200 pieces.  Six hundred were produced in 3 rail and I believe Sunset bought the remaining 600 and had them made in 2 rail.

The smoke unit is Seuthe.  And it is the only RoW locomotive that did not have a Pittman motor.  This one used Mabuchi.  There is also a connector at the back for a sound system boxcar.

Penn Central dealt with tough times

You guys are the best Yard Crew a guy could ask for!

Here's my NYC Lionel LC+ RS-3 pulling a passenger "plush run" at the show yesterday.  

Here's a picture of the full club modular layout...  Only two club modules didn't get set up, as one was forgotten by a club member.

OK- 1 now.... dropped in a bid but was auto-out-bid.

If the B&O one is still going, you can try offering a lower amount. I think that was how I got mine.
