Good morning Switcher Saturday faithful.
For the uninitiated, Switcher Saturday is a weekly thread dedicated to smaller locomotives that do the big work of railroading. Sure, super size steamers are great, and 4000 hp monster diesels are amazing, but the first and last miles are usually handled by switchers. Whether its on the local, switching an industry, or leisurely pulling some coaches for tourist service, switchers do it all.
Switcher Saturday is open to all scales and gauges. Everyone is encouraged to share a picture, video or story that is in someway switchers related, just follow the OGR tos regarding pictures. (i.e. if its not yours, get permission from the owner to share it here)
So, I have been really busy at work and not able to really do any special themes for a while. So this afternoon I had to run up to a full service lumber mill, to get a board for my fire place mantle run through a joiner to be straighten out. While I'm driving up there I am wondering what to do for this weekend. Well, sometimes its better to be lucky than good. It turns out the the facility I was going to was literally right next to the Middletown and Hummelstown RR! So for this week's kickoff, we have the locomotives of the Milk and Honey route, along with a fun shot of the kids since they were along for the ride.
So please share those photos and videos. High greens to you all
