My wife and I hit the Orange Hall about 3 PM Friday, and we stopped to see Andre first. I spotted the Switchman's Shanty he and I had been working on for several months. So many great comments, and there will be many orders in the near future. There are just a few slight modifications, but otherwise, another outstanding model by Andre. I set up a little vignette and took some photos of the shanty on my shelf layout to give folks an idea of what it might look like on a layout.
I will be showing the model at our monthly meeting of the preservation society on Tuesday, and I'm sure there will be some orders there. Thanks Andre for working with me on this project.
Progress on the restoration of the prototype that I'm doing is progressing nicely, but I'll post on the Real Trains forum. One other item of note, Paul Fischer, an OGR member told me last night at dinner that there is a similar shanty at Market and George in the center of town with an onion dome as the roof. I'll be organizing a field trip through our society to investigate in the near future.
