Yes. For the same reasons that you do. I mess with things (bashing, or the PT tender for my Lionel NYC ESE, for example), or occasionally just buy one that I like when I run across it.

That "big" ex-0-4-0 slope-back tender still looks interesting...could take it off your hands... 

If you are going to dispose of any of them Lee, then perhaps you should put them out to tender? 

WOW, do you like specialty spare parts. You should never run out of coal on your layout.

My main fetish is cabooses, but I am looking for a couple of homeless and forlorn

stray tenders at the moment, for a project. I see hyou have at least one Marx one on the roster.

The Marx is a spare and the only extra tinplate tender I have.  I had my Dad's mid 1930s wind up Marx set but it is uch too precious to me to every run, so I bought a full set of the same on e-bay and cleaned up and converted one loco to electric so I can run it from time to time.  I bought a extra tender just in case.

Tenders, box cars and cabooses are about my favorite rail cars, so I feel it's fun to have spare tenders.

I have one spare 2046 tender and another 2046 tender, to a set, of which I installed back-up lights in both, since they are exactly similar to the 2671 back-up lighted tender.

The three lens ports, in the 2046 tenders' rear walls, are open for installation of three lenses.

Also, I have coupler/draw bar adapters, to add extra tenders in a train consist.

I don't have any extra.  Guess I haven't been in the hobby long enough?  But of that lot of yours, the top middle one is my favorite, and I want one, or rather, I want a locomotive with one.  Actually, I want a Legacy version of the locomotive in the Fogg painting I have, shown below.

Well, that looks like an SP Mountain class.  It has been done in O Scale by Lobaugh, Scale Craft, Max Gray, and Sunset.  Two available on eBay as I type.  Doubtful that Lionel would do one as well as any of those, although not impossible to believe - the Lionel FEF is certainly impressive.

I do have a collection of spare tenders as you do, Lee.  It gives flexibility in operating.
