Well, my friend (who is between layouts at the moment) received his AM Meteor cars last week and lugged the lot over for some photo's.  I have to say I wish I had HiRail track instead of those teeny-weeny code 100 scale rails so I could actually run this set.  I'm also surprised that no one has posted photos of the entire train all stretched out.

So, here we go:

First, we catch the 4501 at the Iola coal tower while Stan and Kyle continue to be non-plussed about what's standing before them:

All serviced and ready to continue, the 4501 has rejoined the Meteor and heads off towards Cherryvale:

The Meteor is an impressive sight as the locomotive and all 7 cars enter the curve at Cherryvale:

The train pauses to wait for train orders:

Which gives us a chance to mosey to he rear of the train before it whistles off and continues it's journey:

It's too bad I'm gonna have to pack it all up and give it back to my friend...

Rusty, You should look at the video of the set and lots of pictures of it.  Where have you been?  Below is the subject topic subject.

S Scale Frisco Meteor Passenger Car Set - American Models

I've been right here, Bill.

Your video won't play on my home computer, my work computer or my phone.  Mark's video's shows the set rolling by and photo's of individual cars or the set on a shelf, but none as far as I can tell, show the who enchilada stretched out in it's seven car glory.

The set comes with 5 cars and AM made one extra car for purchase separately so your friend must have bought two of the extra cars, which means they have the same name on the side.

It does look good, but I do wish Ron would have matched the blue paint perfectly.  I sent him the tender of my Frisco so he could before he painted the set.

AM sold out of the set within a week.  There may be a second run as he only made about 40 sets and I am sure Lionel made several hundred engines although they won't tell you.  The market is there for more.

I know two AM dealers that ordered sets and didn't get them.  Ron probably wanted to maximize his profit and sold only to retail customers.

Nope.  Oakmulgee:

And the "set" coach, Enid:

When my friend placed his order, he asked for all extra cars if available, not just one extra car.

I still have to say: This is a really nice train, even if the cars don't match the loco exactly.  The six wheel trucks really improve the looks of the cars.

Almost wish I ordered a set of cars to scalify.

I couldn't play Roundhouse Bill's video either. I did get to see Banjoflyer's and your pictures.

Wow, asking for any and all extra coaches. Your buddy sounds like the kind of guy who doesn't have to run out to the store for milk and bread when the hurricane warnings go out. I was wondering how many variants they would make.

BTW, I got my set last week at last, as well.
