Yes, and so can everyone else see those things!

I've often wondered about some videos. Stuff laying all over. scenery out of place. Is it just we don't see it or just ignore it?  Unless I am in the middle of destruction - I'll try to pick up tools and things that don't need to be on the layout before taking images. I absolutely agree with seeing things on the photos/videos I did not see in person - especially on the cab view videos.

I've got a couple of videos which I really like and prefer to watch rather than run on the layout. Don't have to think, no derailments, just an adult beverage in hand and watch 'em run on a big screen.

There was an article in one of the train mags years ago saying that the truest way to examine your layout is to take pictures or vids.  So true, we notice things in them that we haven't noticed or paid attention to prior.

I often notice back ground paraphernalia in pics and video I watch. Im talking about debris, boxes of garbage tools laying all over laundry piled up you name it. I am always concious to keep the scene clear and  clean. Nick

Ever time I take a picture I look back and start rearranging things. Or,I'll notice wax residue on an engine. Become embarrassed,rethink my life and think that my train layout people will impeach me as mayor of my layout. It's stressful.

I have noted to others many times that the camera is your harshest critic and will not lie to you about all the errors in your modeling efforts.  Take photos and look at them and you will find stuff to correct and do better.

As for those debris fields in the background - get a foam board tri-fold from Michaels and use it as a backdrop
