Try pointing it to the upper left.

Maybe free up right side and top for yard and interchange(s.)

Think about having a"fly over" to a junction at a higher level.

Keep fiddling. There is a lot of action possible 

You may want to consider researching Muskegon Mi.  The Grand Trunk operated car ferries between Muskegon and Milwaukee.  If I remember correctly your car ferry is modeled after the Grand Trunk boats.  Three railroads made appearances here the Grand Trunk, Pere Marquette (later the C&O) and Pennsylvania.

It will serve the Michigan and Great Lakes.  It is my own fictional railroad.

The M&GL doesn't have any freight cars of its own but it handles the overload of the other railroads, primarily the Pere Marquette.

Here is my latest trackplan.  The one thing I really want is a way to turn the train around though.   Not sure how to implement a wye or a balloon track.  Any suggestions?

I also wish I had more room for scenery.
