I decided to run my new three-rail MTH "Crocodile" electric loco with the "DCS Commander". As many of you know, this is the "button box" used in conjunction with the Z-1000 "brick" power supply. The commander, in DCS mode, allows access to a number of Proto 3.0 engine features at the press of a single button: FYA dialogue (in Swiss/German dialect), front and rear coupler actions and sounds, various whistle combinations, Doppler effects, headlight controls, momentum throttle, and others, all at the touch of a button: simple and effective.

Of course, it does not access all of the functions of the full-blown DCS system, but it is more than adequate, yet simple to hook up and operate.

The new Crocodile loco performs smoothly and well with its European gondola consist. Each gondola carries a load of LGB simulated "pipes".
