I always knew I would get old; I just never knew I'd actually BE old. Oh well.
I did, at least, walk my 2miles today; I just didn't do the walk, then ride my bike for hours, play ball, then wrestle with some friends, and mow the lawn and clean the garage, all in the same day, as I did in adolescence.
His collection is just too much or overkill and what's he trying to prove may I ask ? (just a honest opinion that's all).
Nothing. It's reasonable to assume he collected his stuff for enjoyment.

If you owned the trains, you certainly would be free to do that. I see no problem.
He did what he wanted to do and had the funds to do it without starving his family or not paying his bills - it is called use of discretionary income - his prerogative!
