By way of reading Syd's request for help with his Unique Arts diesels, it got me to pondering that the overwhelming majority of tinplate motive power is steam. I suppose that is due to the age of tinplate coinciding with the age of steam. I know Marx survived long enough to produce lithographed diesels and Unique Art for a time, but are there other examples? Perhaps from across the pond?

The another question popped into my head..what was the very last lithographed tinplate train set made in the U.S? What year was that?

Perhaps inquiring minds want to know. Maybe nobody knows. My guess as rough as it is would be perhaps the last set coincided with the introduction of toy safety regulations...

If it had gone to the market, I would have bought this in a heartbeat and thanks for posting the photo..what a shame, it's more striking than most reproductions of other makes, which I think is true of a lot of the Flynn's offerings.

I think that whole line was \ is seriously underrated...if the editorial purview of most publications is to be counted as an arbiter of that.
