I was going to put my transformer shelf in and use one TIU instead of two. I was using the fixed posts on both TIU's to run my four mainlines. Everything was running good that way. But when I combined the two I just moved the wires down so one Z4000 had a fixed and variable. Then I added the other Z4000 to the other half of the TIU. I turned the power back on to see what I had and only two lines ran. Those were the ones running through the fixed posts on The TIU. So right now I don't know whether to go back to the two TIU's or try to trouble shot this. I have Barry's book but not in front of me. Would that trouble shot this for me. All help greatly appreciated. Thanks...........Paul

You need to change the settings of the two variable channels to fixed. This is done through the handheld. The TIU manual, or Barry's book, will tell you how.
Paul,
Barry's book will definitely help you here. (Pgs 38 and 40 in the 2nd Edition.)
There is nothing wrong with your set up. The problem is you need to add the variable channels to the remote and then turn the voltage on the remote up for each channel.
Menu, Track set up, Add track, Add TUI track. (If I remember correctly!) Select the TIU that matches the address you are using. Pick variable 1 and give it a name. Go back through the menu and do the same thing for variable 2.
Put a lighted car on the track. Crank up the voltage on the Z4K to the variable channels. Then use the TR (Track) button to access each named variable channel. Dial the voltage up and you should have voltage on the track.

Thanks guys for that information. .........Paul
I set all the variable channels to fixed in the configuration. Then if I want to run variable, I just select the track and vary the voltage, it drops back into variable mode until the next power cycle of the TIU.
Menu/System/ DCS set up/ FXD.... each press of " FXD" changes the var channel back and forth from fixed mode to var mode. The tiu will remember the setting you 've selected
