I have rotation, front lights, outriggers, and couplers. No rear light control( it's on), boom, or hooks. I can see the led flashing accepting commands when I access the non functional features.
Any thoughts?

Marty,
The receiver board is probably bad or you could have loose connections. If you are going to open it up make sure you secure the boom and hooks.
Bill
Bill, you might also want to fit your auxiliary extra pair of hands. Those things are a royal PITA to work on.
So I pulled this out again.
So so if the receiver board is bad, would I see the flash LED towards the back of the cab flashing when i accesss these functions? ill be opening this up this weekend I imagine. YIKES.
Yea secure the cables like boxcar said of you will be there for hours fixing them ..
Yeah Marty, secure the cables

I can assure you, you will only tangle the boom strings ONCE before that lesson is drummed into your head! Restringing one of these is not for the faint of heart!
Well I emailed Lionel and the front line staff didn't have any info that would help. I guess this weekend I'll secure the lines and open the Cab. To me it looks like you have to rotate it 90 degrees from the base to get to the cab screws. Other than the lines anyone have any other thoughts about getting to the electronics?
I recall looking at one that Alex M. had with the same problem. If you look at the wiring diagram, it appears the rear light connections are reversed. If someone was there before you, they could be improperly connected.
He may know how to get inside.
I am the original owner. 1 day it was working, the next not so much.
I have no qualms about diving it but also have no problems getting advice from others about this unit because of the strings and such.
I was just looking at the diagram again. I don't know if it's a harness or individual connections, but the front and rear leds are connected where one leg of the program\run switch connects. So, I doubt reversed wires is the problem.
Anyway, Alex M. messed with one having the same issue. Drop him a line. He never came back and finished the thread with an answer.
Marty, if you don't have the document that John posted, it's a very useful piece of information for the crane. I found it very useful in putting mine back together.
Here's the poop. Took the cab off. The small receiver board blinks when any command is given. The large motor driver board LED blinks when the working commands are given.
is there a reset code for these?
No reset code, this same problem was posted on the forum in the spring.
It looks like its the PCB/Motor driver board:

I have one of these cranes as well, still works fine ( knock on wood)
Maybe a "Marty E's Tips and Tricks" photo tutorial on this repair should be in order
There doesn't appear to be any documented reset, other than simply setting the ID. It sounds like multiple functions are failing.
I'd start by checking all the plugs, there's a lot of connections that go to the one board. If any of the limit switches are stuck, that would stop movement in one direction. If all the connections are secure, it's looking like something happened to the motherboard. I can't imagine this being the receiver if you're getting commands at all.
Lionel suggested the limit switches which I checked yesterday. I'm leaning towards the motor driver board as well.
All wires lead to Rome on that rig it would appear.
And of course that's the $100 board. Lol.
Of course!
marty,
Before the board gets ordered...
Is there an R in the 0 position on the keyboard? That is the reset button. (At least according to Mike's video) That didn't work for others. try reset aux1 6. A diesel, stationsounds diner car or aux1 2
How about the old TMCC headlight\taillight troubleshoot. Press Aux2
5 appears to be the on\off for the rear lights.
is there a boom car in the mix here?
Finally an update. Ordered the motor driver board last fall during the 1/2 price parts sale. Installed it late last year and finally tested it. Works great. Back in business!
I have to remember the half price sale and queue up more parts next year!
