I realize I should know this, but I am 64 and occasionally I get stumped.
I have two TMCC locos running under TMCC using my Cab-2.
When I start building a "Train" I enter:
"Train" + ID#+ Build
Then I enter "Eng#" + Add + "Eng2#" + Add + Set
Cab-2 reads out "Train Created"
The lashup does not respond, however.
Suggestions?

check and see if the cab2 is in Legacy mode, change to TMCC mode.
Do you need to tell it which is the front "F" and which is the rear "R" loco like you do when creating an MU using a Cab-1?
I did know to check for TMCC mode, but in "Train" position, I could not figure it out.
Bob, you don't need to state F or R.

The engines have to be on the track with the power up and the engines will blow their horns when they are programed. If the horns do not blow they didn't get the program signal. also if you are using TMCC mode the tr can only be 1-9

A refresher on TMCC consists with a Cab-1. All engines on the track in forward mode , (front head light on), track powered. TR##'s are 1 through 9.
Lead engine running nose forward.
TR button, TR##, Eng##, F (front), set (horn/whistle should sound)
Rear engine running nose forward.
TR button, TR##, Eng ##, R (rear), set (horn/whistle should sound)
Rear engine running nose backward.
TR button, TR##, Eng##, R, (rear) Dir, set (horn/whistle should sound)
Other engines running nose forward.
TR button, TR##, Eng##, set (horn/whistle should sound)
Other engines running nose backward.
TR button, TR##, Eng##, Dir, set (horn/whistle should sound)
Check.
(1.) Only the front and rear facing head lights of the consist should operate. Front in Forward direction, Rear in reverse. All other head lights should be off.
(2.) Only the front and rear couplers should work. Front from the F button, Rear from the R button. All other couplers should not work.
(3.) All axles should move in the same direction @ the same speed.
(4.) Operate a TR## the same as you would an Eng ##

Note that when engines/locomotives are removed from a consist, they should be assigned to (Train) TR 0.

good info mike but scrapiron is using the cab2. In Cab-1 mode with TMCC units/locomotives. Not a lot of information in the Legacy manual about creating TMCC consists (Lash-ups). There is (7) pages of advanced control in document 71-2911-250 noted above. I do not have a Cab-2 or any Legacy equipment. Please enlighten us on Scrap's problem.
