Hey all, I have an odd TMCC issue. I have 2 TMCC engines that run from my Legacy controller just fine. When I try to run them from a CAB 1 TMCC box and remote, everything works (horn, bell, direction, etc) except the throttle. Nothing happens. Either engine. The Boost produces very slow movement. I have tried resetting the stall, re-programmed the engine, no change. Hook the Legacy back up, away it goes. But the really odd thing is that I have 2 Cab 1 remotes that do the same thing. Neither will respond to the throttle increase. Both remotes cant have the same hardware issue can they? They are 2006 or so vintage.. Thanks

Try a set of fresh batteries in the Cab-1's. When the batteries are weak, all of the buttons will work but the red knob won't.

You are absolutely right! Geesh... I knew it would be simple. Its TMCC! Nothing ever goes wrong!
Thanks so much! Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you, John! Glad you're back up and running.
My problem with my N&W Y6b 2200 (Lionel TMCC) is that the locomotive suffers from a throttle response lag. The batteries are still new and all the wiring is done correctly and all transformers, bricks, command base, etc. are in phase. Im not sure if its the electronics inside the engine or the motor.
It could be that the momentum on your Y6b is set to medium or high. Open the little door at the bottom of the Cab-1, address your locomotive and press the "L" button (for Low momentum). Throttle response should now be normal. The locomotive will remember this momentum setting until you change it.
Oh ok, thanks. Is there a reason why someone would have the momentum of the engine to be a medium or high setting?
To give the effects of a real slow take-off like a real train
Oh ok, thank you Bill
I use the high momentum all the time, it gives you a realistic startup. For really long consists, it's also pretty important to gradually accelerate to avoid string lining the cars.

It should back up a little and then start up, that would be cool!
You have to add the backup manually. When you get around 100 or more cars, you can have a couple of feet of coupler slack, it looks really cool to see the cars start moving down the line as the couplers grab.
