But it's not quite that simple.  You need power too, and the single wire is actually two:

  1.   TMCC -- Four 'wires', Hot, Neutral, and Transmitter (which is your 'one wire') out to the track; and a unique three-prong power brick plugged into a properly grounded wall outlet
  2.   DCS -- Four wires, Hot and Neutral into the TIU, Hot and Neutral out to the track from the TIU

Uhh... I think you missed a step!  He ostensibly has for separate power districts from the description, so there will be four sets of wires into and out of the TIU, one for each power district.   For TMCC, you'll have four sets of wires going to the four loops as well.
