Train runs good except it stops at at a track sometimes

Kink in a track joint or loose center rail connector
Throw that piece away. Move on.

Mannyrock, with track sections costing anywhere from $5-$25 per piece, that is lousy advise. Take $20 out of your wallet and throw it away and see if that makes you feel better.
Lark, Get out a meter and make sure that section of track is getting voltage. Lionelski is correct, there could be a connection issue or a dirty track issue. Don't overlook the outside rails either. It's not always the center rail that is the issue.
Get us some details of what you find out. Pics or video can help us too.
Have Fun.

Ron,
Well no Ron, I don't have to take $20 out of my wallet and throw it away to see how it feels.
I've already bought two NIB locos this year, in the $200 range, that were defective right out of the box. Compared to that, $20 would feel like a gentle kiss. :-)
Wish I could solve my train problems by throwing away a $20 piece of track.
