Pat I hope I am not repeating this question. How big is your layout? And do you have any shots of the overall layout?
Your layout like Frank's really intrigue me.
Also who made the end door box car? I presume it is a 50-foot model?

These aren't really on my layout but I felt they were worth sharing. We got some snow out here at school and I took some military models out and caught these shots. I purposely got my hands on some winter-camoflauged tanks to take advantage of the snow.

I recently bought a sheet of newspaper fronts, printed on very thin tissue paper, from an eBay vendor, made by a company called Dave's Decals. A personal printer couldn't possibly make these. Anyway, I scattered several of them around the layout, looking like discarded newspapers. This is the level of detail I'm focusing on now on the layout:
On the side of the tracks, fell out of a passenger coach window?
Another on the tracks
On the bench, the last visitor of the monument forgot his paper(s)?
Someone missed the garbage can?
Sheesh, such waste! Don't these people know there's a war (WW2) on? Maybe the raccoon might check out the headlines?
There are a few others here and there (maybe more than should really be scattered around) and a few of them simply blended in too well to even be noticed. I'm working on the 'random debris' that exists in real life but seems to be rarely modeled.

BobbyD, thanks so much for the information. Although was hoping it might be a 40-footer. Have to see if I can find one, maybe.

Hi Ron - My layout is 6 X 17. The limited space in the layout room prohibits me from taking an overall layout photo. The end door boxcar is a Lionel scale automobile boxcar which I purchased used at a show.
I'm happy to hear my layout ( along with Frank's ... who btw has a stunning layout) ... intrigues you.

I haven't posted photos on here for awhile, and when I tried tonight, I get a screen entitled "insert/edit image" after clicking. It asks for a "source". What does that mean? Also it asks for dimensions, as in "X" by "X". What do I need to do to add a photo(s). I have searched everywhere on the website and only get the old directions on how to add photos, which I was familiar with.
Thanks for your help.

Pat, WOW! You have all that in a somewhat limited space. No wonder it SO intrigues me.

Ron, I don't recall a scale 40' plastic model with end doors. Good luck with your search!
