iPhone Crushed by Train
These guys must have money to burn. When we were kids, we used to put pennies on the rails. but we had no smart phones in the fifties

Stupid is as stupid does...
We put pennies on the rails. I guess this is the modern equivalent.
I prefer the Blend-Tec
I just don't even know what to say about that.....
Smart phone, dumb kid!
The RR Police would consider this a criminal trespass. This might result in criminal charges. This is over the top and Rich Melvin outlined it perfectly in a few words. If I wanted to get rid of an iPhone, I would turn it into cash and not trash.
Something taped to track, the Feds will knock on the door and want to know who the other part of WE is. Flames under train--WOW. I will copy this as I am sure it will get pulled very soon.
After watching this video I wouldn't be surprised if they tried that already.
Who is this TechRex??
Stupid kids with to much time and money on their hands.
They need to get a life and or a hobby...........................model trains?

No!…please...we don't need them to be involved in this hobby in any way, shape, or form. Beyond stupid!
Actually, on thinking about it, I think it is kind of neat, in a Godzilla Meets Bambi kind way. I would have used something less expensive, but . . . yeah, it was cool - I'm not going to get my knickers in a twist over it. I was in one of the National labs once and we used a 5 MW squeezed light projector to "illuminate" a penny. Sort of the same thing . . .
Does he not know that it is not legal to but objects on the tracks?? What a stupid ***!
...keep the rails polished...
Serious question... What's going through the engineer's mind when he sees people up ahead near the tracks, doing who knows what?
Idiots!
Peter
Too bad the train didn't get the Go- Pro
Stupidity apparently has no limits?
Art
Too bad the train didn't get the Go- Pro
Too bad the molten battery didn't hit them in the eyes and scar them for life.
Guys, trespassing on railroad property and placing anything on the tracks is a criminal offense. You can bet someone has already sent this bone head video to the Feds. Google this guy and read about things he does. The line between a dangerous person and a total wack job is very thin. I know I would not want someone putting things on rails I travel on.
I would love for the railroad police to see this!
...keep the rails polished...
Looks like they spent a lot of money on those Iphones
What did accomplish by doing this?
What happened to the iPhone is what happens to the user and all the other innocent people in the vicinity when the driver is paying more attention to his/her phone than driving his/her SUV.
he said the result was "mind-blowing." what the heck did he expect? train big and heavy. iPhone not.
stupid on so many levels.
the thing is, he guy is waiting for viewers and so far he is accomplishing the target.
Actors will not exist without a public.
Why not just take a hammer to phone on an anvil.
The fire was likely caused when the battery was crushed.
he said the result was "mind-blowing."
Seems to me his mind was blown well before he even placed the phone on the track.
As much as I shun the "iPhone cult mentality" and find idiotic antics of some iPhone users entertaining, this makes no sense. Why do this. The risk of miniscule glass shards flying around, battery explosion, etc. makes this a risky proposition for anyone near the tracks.
The answer to the question "why"... is because in this case doing something stupid can make money for the person doing it.
TechRax (the entity posting this video) is a YouTube "Partner". YouTube "Partners" make money by posting videos that generate lots of views. The more outrageous the video, the more attention it gets, and the more views it generates.
Stupid.
how much trouble can we get as rail fans for taking pictures on rr property. i vote next time boy genius tapes his head to track and tells us how that feels. i bet mommy is real proud of that rocket scientist

Shame on YouTube for promoting/encouraging such obnoxious/meaningless/ridiculous behavior.
I imagine it will take a few deaths and the resulting lawsuits for them to re-think this initiative.
