Trainstock 11 will be happening on Saturday January 19 at the NJ HiRailers Train club at 10am.  For those that have never attended it is an OGR forum party.  All are welcome as well as their families.  Bring some trains to run on our layout and enjoy a day of peace, food and trains away from the hectic days of your life.  Chef Vinny will be supplying the delicious food along with the rest of our kitchen staff.

Is there plenty of parking in the area?

Great question, I'm curious as well.

One block down (west) from the club on 6th Ave. there's a large fenced in parking lot.  There's also parking along the street on 6th (fills up pretty early) and 11th Street.

Here is the difference , this probably one of the biggest and best Layouts you will ever see. This club is tops in my opinion. Layout takes up an entire floor of an old factory and is very impressive. Your grandkids will love it. I have been to see this many times and always something new to see. There are no dealers there with items to sell it’s just all Layout. This will be something you will want to see again.

Could someone please explain the difference, if any, between "Trainstock" and any of the other shows? I want to bring my grandchildren (ages 3 & 6) and I see on the club's website that there are shows on November 18th and December 2nd.

Trainstock and our other shows have very different objectives.  Trainstock is a gathering of OGR members to discuss trains and socialize.  It is primarily for adults.  Some folks bring their trains to run but not as many trains are typically running as during our other shows.  Our other scheduled shows are much more family oriented.  We usually have many children at these.  We run a complete set of train all day.   The last show in December is the best.  The place is decorated including our 20ft Christmas tree and Santa makes a visit with a present for each child.  We also take a complimentary picture with each child and Santa.

Bottom line....the kids will enjoy our regular shows much more than Trainstock.  Unless of course the kids enjoy watching older guys argue the merits of Lionel vs. MTH!!!  <g>

Thank you. That's what I need to know. I've been to Trainstock several times so instead this year I'll bring the kids to one of the other events.
