I recently installed DCS system with remote and added a locomotive, no problem. I then took that locomotive and put it on a track that only has the DCS remote commander. The lights come on but I cannot activate anything with the Remote Commander remote.  Do i need to clear the engine using the DCS system remote and then transfer that engine to the other track with the other remote.   Just for clarity the DCS system remote is the big remote with all the whistles and the DCS remote commander remote is the small one with limited capability.  THanks,

Yes, you need to do a full factory reset on the full DCS System before you can use the DCS Remote Commander.  The DCS Remote commander only operates DCS trains on the factory reset address.   Once you use an engine on the full DCS system you have an address assigned to the engine, that the Remote CDR can not talk too.  G
