I’m trying to up my legacy base from v1.52 > v1.6 using a black writable module. So far, every attempt I keep getting the 6 amber flashes error code. Which the manual states:
• Removed Module during update
• Module not inserted properly
• Possible hardware issue
I have successfully updated the cab remote from v1.52 > 1.7. So I don’t think the module is faulty. I’m inserting the module into the base firmly. Lastly, I am of course, not removing the module during update.
Any tips?

Since it is a black writeable module, are you sure it has loaded the base version file and not the cab2 update file? Sure it properly write the file to the memory?
Again, using the Legacy system utility to write the module over serial or wifi using an LCS module, maybe something went wrong?
I’m sure. As I stated, I successfully updated the cab remote to version 1.7. So now I’m rewriting the module with the 1.6 bas.2 file. It successfully writes to the module, but fails to program the base.
I had the same issue with different versions and just sent it to Lionel for repair. They had replaced the board Inside and also updated it at the time to the lastest version. They are still covering the cost of repairs and shipping for the cab2. Give them a call.
