Passenger train derailment caused by a loss of one of the four screws that secure the sides of the three-wheel heavyweight truck on the 21" GGD Santa Fe St. Albens sleeper car.  Two wheel set reamained attached to the truck, but one set dislodged. Train was running slow and no damage to car.

Since the screw is very small and I have not been able to locate it on the layout, I am searching for information as to where a replacement may be found.  I will be at York next week and will check with GGD booth if it is there, but I have some doubt that purchase of one replacement screw is practical.  Aside from  GGD, is there any source for such parts, or is there a standard size screw that I could buy for replacement?

The screw length is not important so long as the screw you are buying is longer than the screw  you need.

Buy the nuts that mate with the screws.  Run 2 nuts all the way down the screw and cut the screw to length with the Dremel cutoff disc, touch the end with a file, then run the nuts off the screw.   The nuts will re-thread the screw.  Problem solved.
