Tubular Track Question | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Came across a box of tubular track that had some pieces I've never seen before. They are approx 14 1/2" straight O gauge sections with 6 ties instead of the usual 10" with 3 ties. I can't for the life of me find any info on these anywhere, or find any for sale...im guessing they were made to match the tie count of the wide radius track like O-72, etc... When did Lionel make them and when did they stop. Oh, and what are they called?

They are O-72, catalog number 761.
