Perhaps someone has a suggestion before I have to send my engine off for repair.  This morning when I powered up my layout, the sounds on my Atlas GP-9 (w/Train America Studios EOB system) came alive before I addressed the engine. After entering the engine code, I got no response.  The engine would not move.  The sounds continued however and the engine began to automatically step up on its own through the various rev levels to the highest rev level, where it stayed.  When I shut off the power, the sounds continued until I removed the battery.  As far as engine response, only the headlights and the couplers respond to the CAB Control.   I have tried reprograming the ID # and resetting the R2LC Board with no luck.   Also, the engine will not operate in conventional mode.

Usually if the engine start as you indicated, there is no TMCC signal and it started in conventional mode. (1.) Check TMCC signal with another unit/locomotive.  (2.) If TMCC signal is present check the antenna wiring to be sure it is properly seated/no loose connections.  (3.) From that point problems point to the R2LC board, one of the three plug-in boards on top of the EOB mother board.  Atlas has always treated me well when it come to service and repair.  Request an RGA (Returned goods Authorization) before send the unit back. Atlas Email contacts and phone numbers are on their website.    Best of luck with your project.  Mike CT
