While my Legacy Base and Cab-2 Remote are off th Lionel for repairs, I thought that I would hook up my new Legacy Base-1L to keep the trains running.  But, I can't figure out how to connect the Base-1L to my TPCs.  There does not appear to be a place for a DAT/Com cable like the one used with my other Legacy base.  Can the Base-1L be operated in conventional mode only with a new Legacy PowerMaster?  It has a separate Command/Conventional switch.

Thanks to everyone for your speedy replies - and the diplomatic way in which you point out my oversight.  In my defense, the DB9 port is labeled "computer" and the manual for the 1L system makes no mention whatsoever of this port or a hookup to either a TPC or a PowerMaster, Legacy or TMCC.  The Legacy PowerMaster manual only states that the PowerMaster receives signals from the 455 MHz track signal.  For a guy like me, who lacks the extensive background in electronics and engineering that you enjoy, a manual is a lifeline to understanding these complex toys we play with, and I follow them literally.  Perhaps the manual could have been a little more complete.  Thank goodness for this blog site!

Ray, the old PowerMasters talked directly to the CAB1, the command base didn't get in the picture.  Totally different issue.

"PowerMaster" is a totally over used descriptive term of Lionel's.
