I have been using my DCS system for about 2 years now. I added TMCC shortly after and had no issues running either PS2 or TMCC engines. I since have added a Legacy base (removed the TMCC base) and use the Legacy remote to control my TMCC and Legacy engines.

So when I run my Lionel engines, I use my MTH remote to set the track voltage, then grab my Legacy remote to operate the Lionel engines.

I know that the MTH remote can operate both MTH and Lionel TMCC/Legacy engines.

But can I use the Legacy remote to set the track voltage and run the MTH engines in conventional mode? Yes I know that I will loose some of the PS2 features, but just wondering if this is possible.

If so, how is this done?

Thanks,

RAY

Ray,

I am new to the Legacy system however this I have learned already, in order for you to run in the conventional mode with Legacy you must have a Power Master added on to your legacy system to use the Cab2 as your control.  However if you want to run

conventional with your DCS you use the TR function, which has 2 different modes, one for the TR TIU mode and one for the TR Z4K mode, with this option you need the Z4K transformer and the side receiver.

You got it. The Z4k receiver is a bit on the scarce side though--some part of the Z4000 remote system is made up of end-of-life'd electronics and supplies are somewhat limited.
