Hello All,

I have two variable voltage tracks on my TIU that get their power from a Lionel Type Z Transformer.  I have never had any issues with the tracks until recently when they would only power up and take commands from the transformer instead of the remote or the DCS App.  For instance, I always keep the CU and DU posts on and just ran everything from the remote/app.  Lately, when I turn on the layout both (older lionel) trains will take off down the track without me giving them the command from the remote. The only way to stop them is by shutting the posts off!  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Check to see if these two outputs are set to FIXED. In FIXED mode they work exactly like the FIXED outputs on the TIU.

If I recall correctly goto Menu/system/ dcs set up/  Select the var channel and hit VAR.

I'd do that as well...If the channel is set to fixed you're going to get full power to the track as soon as the layout is turned on. The fxd key is like a toggle switch , it toggles between fix and var mode with each  press. However the tiu  remembers the setting   you've selected.
