Folks,

 

I've been turning out projects all year, but have not updated my website until just recently.

 

A client shipped me a coal tender from a Sunset/3rd Rail VGN AE, 2-10-10-2, wanting me to convert it to an Aux Tank, as was done by the VGN's Princetown Shops.

 

Using many of the same techniques, I converted this stock tender in the same way.

Yes, the replacement rivets are the superb 7/8" Archer resin details.

The original body was etched and was too thick to emboss, not to mention that it was already formed, making any kind of embossing nearly impossble.

 

In addition, drilling hundreds of holes to install brass replacement rivets (that would have been oversized) would be beyond onerous.
