Eric: What would make this brass project viable, is that these are 3-unit sets. Sunset needs 300 pieces to do a project that means only 100 sets between 2-rail and 3-rail, not counting the single switching unit that they also had. The two end units and the switching unit are I believe identical and the middle unit has one less pantograph. Does Scot of Sunset read this forum? nw2124

I personally like the idea but if memory serves me correctly, MTH catalogued a VGN electric a few years ago; however, the model never made it to the production stage due to a lack of pre-orders. I guess people need more NYC Hudsons and Santa Fe F units.
As purty as they are, problem is, VGN is a minority-interest railroad, right up there with C&NW, MoPac, etc. (It's a shame, but it is what it is). There might be sufficient interest if, say, 3rd Rail announced the N&W electrics, there being any number of N&W foamers out there, including the estimable publisher of OST
