VISION LINE HUDSON - RCMC boiler boards - 6-11209 & 6-11218

This should be the same board and you shouldn't have any issues.  Both engines are from the same run as far as I can tell

The RailSounds boards have road-number specific crewtalk, but I don't know why the RCMC would be different for the two models.

Thanks! That’s what I am thinking. I’ve ordered the replacement for the 5331 to go into my ailing 5344. I will give it a shot soon and report results.

I am surprised they say unavailable. Lionel programs them as needed.

That's an older RCMC version, maybe they no longer have blank stock of that version.

If they show the ones for they gray hudson in stock they could reprogram those. The only difference is cab number specific crew talk.

Those functions are in the sound board, not the RCMC.  I am having trouble thinking of anything that would be different just because they painted it a different color!

They both use the same RCMC. Someone is not minding inventory.

Ok. Thanks. That’s where I was thrown off. I saw the same image for both and wondered why the 5344 was unavailable but not the gunmetal one. Was worried there might have been a software/code difference or something I couldn’t see, but through I’d just take a chance on the gunmetal replacement board for the 5344

That makes more sense Pete, I couldn't imagine why they wouldn't be the same.
