I picked up the Walt Disney World 50th Ann. Set because I am nostalgic for the traditional Walt Disney World. I am one that only likes the aspects created under Disney himself. The set is available direct from Disney and is filled with a lot of color and entertainment. My only complaint is the packaging which is similar to the other starter LionChief sets where the items are in trays and not easily boxed. The sets now open on the side and you have to pull the contents out with a flimsy grab of the cardboard tray that houses the items. Why why why mess with a set packaging that worked fine before? Not only does the cardboard tray tear but the side flap gets tattered with the opening and closing. I am one that likes to keep boxes in new shape...and put my trains back in them for storage. Why can't Lionel use the lift off lid style packaging and have all (non individually boxed) contents sit in a sturdy layered molded plastic housing...or dense cut styrofoam that all sits right in. I bet the styrofoam was dropped for being green but that is silly since this is not a single use disposable application. The box should last the life of the product and be easy to open and close without any damage resulting. The lift off lid of a few years ago worked perfect. Then have grab slots to lift the foam or plastic trays out. Enjoy pics of the set:
