Thanks for the replies so far ... I am signed up to attend the evening event that the LCCA has at the Children's Museum of Virginia ... from their website, there is A LOT of goodies to see.

Since I will be having a car, I plan on checking out the N&W steamer in downtown Portsmouth as well as the 3 hobby shops mentioned.

JR, an update to my comment on Engine House Trains. You should call first to check when he's open. Went out there this afternoon when he was supposed to be open and he was already closed.
