Recently, I purchased a new 32" flat screen TV & wanted to adapt it to watch rail fan videos on YouTube.

A Roku stream stick is just the thing, comes with it's own remote or one can pair with a tablet.

My TV has a 'freeze' button which when punched lets me view the loco's, cars in explicit detail.

These gadgets are very easy to attach to a TV via HDMI slot and power comes via a USB slot.

i just wanted to post this in case some of you might be interested in being able to view internet videos

via your personal device without using your cable provider.

No charge for YT, and yes set up an account but no charge unless you decide to rent a movie or a subscription to something like time/warner videos. You set up your own 'Pin'

number and use that if you decide to charge anything.

I like this little item because it will plug into the back of my tv as well as the separate

power source which has a USB plug & can use the tv's power (or a separate power block

which is provided).

There are so many free movie wand documentary's available which are free. I'm using the History channel also to look at WW II footage of tankers, among other things.

An $8 online coupon is available for use at your  discretion.

I've done this with my Xbox 360, and if you have a tablet with HDMI out, you can also output its web browser or YouTube app to the TV as well.

Some 'Smart TV's' can access YouTube via built-in apps without anything more than a wired/WiFi connection to your router.

While I'm at it, how about some TGV cab rides on your big-screen TV?

(the above is a time-lapse version--the real-time videos run from 31 min to an hour+49 min with no music )
