Purchased my pre-show tickets at Philly TCA show in early January but now with storm forecasted to arrive and exit area sooner than previously thought with snow to  begin before noon and be done and gone by Sunday, I'm wondering, "Will show's organizers either honor those Saturday pre-show tickets for admission on Sunday instead or possibly even offer a refund on those tickets if not used?" Also, will North Penn O Gaugers open house possibly be rescheduled if very few peopole attend on Saturday due to the stormy weather?

Remember to bring something to brush the snow off your vehicle!

You going Dave?

Most likely no. Guess I'll see you at York.

All the interstates around here were closed this morning due to black ice.

Rich I rember a few years back.We got hit by 3 icestorms back to back. The odd thing was in stead of the ice being on the trees and powerlines. It was on the ground a layer of 2 t0 3 inchs of ice.I decide to stay home and good thing to.You would not belive all the wrecks mostly 4 wheel drive.Belive me black ice is nothing to mess with. All I can say is stay warm and safe.

Glad I did not go, started snowing here in Exton, pa. At around 11:30 and quickly covered the ground. The roads were very slippery. Rt 100 would have been a nightmare with all the hills coming and going.

York is coming so missing Allentown is no big deal for me. Hope everyone who went had a great time and got home safe.

Sorry I didn't make it like Dave1, after two trips out that way in snow in resent years just wasn't into it. Sorry to have missed  it and the North Penn Open House. Slept in till almost noon. Since I am not a TCA member I look forward to this meet, maybe it was providence to get me not to spend $$$ as $$$ are tight (see thread on retirement). Of course I would not spent $$$ at the open house. I guess I didn't miss much since Devlin was not there either LOL. Don't get me wrong I do miss seeing all.

Grandaught Cassie missed attending also. Maybe North Penn will have another Open House Since I quess a number missed this one cause of the weather.

It took me an hour to get home only 15 minutes longer than normal. I did have one hairy incident. In weather like this I leave at least 6 car lengths between me and the car ahead. I was driving on Pa 33 north when acar pulled in front of me shortening the distance when suddenly the line of traffic slowed. When i hit the brakes I felt a slight bobble and knew I couldn't stop fast enough so I steered unto the median and went past him fortunately the median was flat and I just drove back onto the road again. In sixty years of driving in this kind of weather I've learned a few things.

I left the Meet shortly after the 11am picture and went over to the farmers market for lunch, it wasn't snowing yet. When I left shortly before 1pm it was snowing heavily and the local roads were snow covered and slick.

On my way to the North Penn O Gaugers open house there were several fender benders and traffic jams.   My TomTom navigator guided me away from them through alternate routes. The 30 minute ride took me nearly an hour to get there.  It'd have been longer had I sat in the traffic.

When I left the open house around 3:30 for the normally 90 minute ride south, the road conditions deteriorated quickly the further south I went.  I-476 was snow covered and getting deeper south of Lansdale, without a snow plow in sight.  Rt. 202 south was treacherous below King of Prussia with a few accidents.  On rt.1 in Chadds Ford there was a horrific accident on the northbound side.  A vehicle skidded off the road up an embankment and wrapped around a tree on its side, with the top half of the car sheared off.  As I drove by, emergency workers were carrying the car's roof away from the scene.  Preceding my driving by the accident, an ambulance was heading from the scene.

Finally saw snow plows south of Longwood Gardens on rt.1, but heavy snow was filling in behind them.  Arriving at my neighborhood, relieved I made it home, my relief was short lived.  As I approached the turn to my street, which is uphill, a neighbor's car was stuck trying to go up the hill blocking the street.  A couple neighbors proceeded to use their snow blowers to clear a path in the street so he could try to get up the hill.  His wheels were still spinning so four of us pushed him up the hill to his driveway.

Three hours after I left the open house I was finally home.  But up until I had to drive home, it was a fun day of trains and friends!  I hope those that were in accidents are OK.
