I'm installing sound and control into a 2 rail Weaver 4-8-2 Pennsy. After spending some time on mounting all the goodies into the tender, I tried fixing some damaged detailing. It didn't go well, so I packed it in for the night. As I'm heading up stairs I glanced over at my Sunset Pennsy 3 rail with TMCC on the shelf and noticed that it was also a 4-8-2. I only run her at Christmas around the tree on a three rail loop.

This Weaver also has some front end damage and it occurred to me that maybe I should have swapped the whole drives out? Not sure it could work? Anyone ever tried this???

Bob2, I was thinking that you'd be the one who might have done this. I always try to keep all engines together and running when possible. I have bought engines as donors for parts and then didn't have the heart to gut them.

I was just brainstorming before bed. I probably won't touch the Sunset anyways. The grandkids love the sounds as is. Leaves me with always having a three rail loop somewhere.
