Is there any chance of getting a chassis for a Weaver Alco? I received one that the frame is broken at the motor area. It is the Reading in the red box. Thanks John

Just how bad is the break? That frame might be hard to find. A small crack an be fixed with JBWeld.

I have the same problem with an FA or B frame and plan on using that method.

good luck. That frame may be made of Delrin Plastic which is tough for glue top stick. you may have to pin the frame repair with micro bolts. did you check P&D hobby for a brass frame?
No but I will Thanks
I have used the P&D Hobby Shop in Fraser. Michigan for Weaver repairs. You might give Jim Mucci a call at 586-296-6116 and inquire about what you need. They seem to have some weaver parts. Bill
Yes Pat the deceased founder of P&D worked closely with Weaver so that would be my first place to look.
Bill O I'm interested in your engine. John
Your other option may be to have someone 3D print a frame for you. They can use the broken frame (save all the pieces!) to get the necessary measurements. As prrhorseshoecurve notes, if the frame is Delrin, gluing it does not work well.
While you have the engine open, check the plastic drive train components, especially at the universal joints. These are prone to cracking. If that happens, the motor spins, but the wheels don't. I was able to get parts from P&D.
Good luck with the project!

I'm hoping Bill gets back to me. I have also contacted P&D so I hope I can repair it soon thanks. John
Thanks to Bill and Don m I have working Reading A & B for my passenger train. Does anybody know where I can get drive line parts for these. My fumble fingers broke several yolks. If I can find some I might be able to make a set of PRR thanks john
