Welcome to Weekend Photo Fun. I have not been able to download my camera from OGR's Thursday at Fridays get together so here are some pictures from the VA Museum of Transportation last weekend. Let's see you pictures! Scott Smith

It has been over 12 years since I purchased this engine and it finally made it's way out of the shipping box this past week. Allied Trains in conjunction with a license agreement from Department 56 released this engine to go with a set of D-56 freight cars.

We got an early start on a new Christmas layout as my bride has two surgeries scheduled in November and she wanted to be a part of the construction. I am using this engine to pull the eight car set of baby Madison PE cars. The PE engine, that is part of the set that I purchased back in 2004, is not as nice as the engine pictured below and I think it kind of fits since I am using 36 of the D-56 North Pole buildings and many of their accessories and trees.

Hi Dewey,

The club has moved into a warehouse until we can find a more suitable location. I will be contributing some of the components of our home layout to the club this week as Tuesday is moving day for my wife and me.

The backdrop will go up and I'll paint an additional 15-20 feet beyond the 32 feet I have now. Also the long arched viaduct made for me by TimW here on the Forum. He does amazing work. You can view it on the J&S photos site

Looking great so far everyone,

I was not able to go to York this fall, however I was able to snatch a great deal on a Lionel GP30 on e-bay. As soon as I receive my parts from Lionel I will be converting it to Alco side frames and prepping the shell for the Alcohol Bath to get it ready to be painted Milwaukee Road colors

Hopefully this weekend I will be setting the Lionel OO layout up and getting it ready for Trainfest in Milwaukee Wisconsin  in a few weekends.

Berra, looks like you have a great railroad you chose to model and run, can’t wait to see more pictures of your equipment.

Mike,

I have a H0 RS-3 that I will replace the trucks with  Blunt trucks. Don't have a railroad to run it on for the moment but I do belong to a H0 modular club.

Both of the Washington DC Chapter, NRHS private rail cars are on the rails this weekend. The Dover Harbor is making Washington, DC-Newport News, VA round trips while the Franklin Inn is down on the New River Train in West Virginia. However, their O-gauge versions are running on the home layout.

Bob, Thanks for that tidbit.  My youngest son takes the MARC downtown to school this year and gets off at Union Station. He's always telling me about spotting Dover Harbor there, and the other day he saw the Cannon Ball (out of New York?).

Nice job on the O gauge versions!

Some of the shots my friend took at Thursdays @ Fridays. These were originally 3MB, 4000x3000 photos, so I reduced them down to 800x600 (I still have the larger ones if someone wants a sharper copy), and I tried to confine the selection to the larger group photos (as there were about 90 in total ), so I don't know if everyone present appears in this group of shots. (I thought I wasn't in any of them, but upon re-examination I found myself in the backdrop of the fifth one)
