Here are some Pennsy tower shots...

If you've been in this hobby for a long time and are a PRR fan, you are probably familiar with this tower on the left. This was built from a classic Quality Craft kit released years ago. I bought mine in the back of the Blue hall at York many years ago. It sat in the box for at least 30 years until I finally assembled it a few years ago. To the right is an old beat up picture I have of the prototype tower at "Mifflin" interlocking in central PA. The model is actually based on "Jacks" tower about 25 miles to the west, accounting for the differences in the window arrangement and other details, but it is pretty close in appearance to Mifflin tower. My model is pretty much the stock kit, but I scratch built the correct tapered chimney and fully detailed the interior.

Other details in the scene are the classic PRR  pneumatic piping to operate the switches in the interlocking, the air storage tanks, and the line poles I had manufactured and marketed as a Weaver product...dies now sold to Atlas, but I still have been unable to get them to put them back into production despite repeated requests.

No train running this week......just packing and moving stuff to the storage unit. I am hoping trains will be running again on Sunday.

I did come across some neat stuff.....

Great photos everyone!  My photos of fun for this fine weekend feature the Free State Junction Railway night and day.  For most shots I used natural sun light as it came in through the various windows in my train room.

And then there is "Little Stevie", a "corner baby" acquired at a train meet in PA a long time ago, named after an adult visitor who caused an Indian Maiden to be run over by a speeding freight train about 20 years ago on my railroad. He has been in time out for about 5 years here in CA!

Dave....ha, ha! No, that's just a scratch on the photograph that looks like flames! The photo is actually matted and quite old. I just took a photo of the photo, and what looks like smoke is just a bit of light reflection off off the glossy surface of the photo!

At our club, one of the members, Bob Pardington, has been an S gauge model railroader for quite a while.  He used to get around quite a bit and go to shows and I think he would really enjoy our forum but he’s not big on the internet.  However, he really enjoys creating scenery and he gifted a scene to me my son yesterday for our home layout.

I was hoping no one would notice. The brakeman was placed atop the SP&S boxcar a long time ago and I have always thought he adds character to the railroad, so I never remove the car from the layout. There must have been at least one SP&S boxcar that made its way East.
