I made this shelf to display my sons G scale Southern Pacific Daylight locomotive.  The four spikes are actually from an abandoned SP yard in California.

With all of the cold, snow, and generally crummy weather of late, here is a glimpse of things to come in the not too distant future.

Some great layouts in last weeks photo's stunning!

Here are some shots of a 2 track ceiling loop around the bedroom. K-Line Super snap track wide radius curves, on carpet underlay, on some old chip board curves from previous layout projects. Painted white on bottom, wood strip for edging, on L brackets and some wood bracing over the shelf. Runs with little noise with this setup and nice large radius smooth curves for the longer passenger cars thus can get a bit of speed while running. Clear plastic strips on the back in case of a derail.

Just running the odd small train on front loop in case of a derail. (so far no derails but did have a coupler come undone one time that derailed a train)

Love the colorful Circus Trains and GG1 colors. Always a hit with the families when I run them at train shows. Here is the storage for them at home.

MTH Galloping Goose is running today on the front track,  love the station stop sounds in the wild.

Fastrak is used for several storage tracks underneath (to noisy for anything else)

...found this brand new (from 2006 catalog) on 'de Bay.  I'm thinking that this would look good with the silver/green window strip NY, NY & H passenger cars.

Also decided to put a small trolley line on my upper level using some extra 027 track I had. It adds more action to now have 4 trains going at once. I had to switch out the small 1012 transformer w/ a KW, which now controls both the trolley track & the gang car track & looks really cool sitting next to the RW & ZW

Big gun Postwar FM for a Friday night.

I built a loading dock kit.  Now there's all kinds of freight business.  There's even a hobo trying to hop into one of the empty box cars.  Matt

Here are a couple of SP Locos,this is my first try at this.

Been working on the layout off and on for the past couple months.  Most of my efforts have been focused on a highly modified Walthers Silver Dollar Cafe and a pretty much scratchbuilt 7 Eleven.  Here are a few recent pictures to share:

Also upgraded the sign on the neighboring 7-Eleven so it's no longer overly bright.  Or at least not quite as overly bright.

Inside the 7-Eleven, complete with Slurpee machine.  I plan to add a Red Box outside soon.

...and now for something completely different.  I made this scale massage van as a joke for my wife, but our friends all enjoy it too.  VW massage vans just like this one are all over the area where we live.

Nice catch   ...Scotty might disapprove, but the building next to the 7-Eleven is actually numbered 1701B (its washed-out in the photo).

My buddy and I are very slowly working on our dream layout, a 20x40 ON30 layout.  It is O scale just narrow gauge and only 2 rails!   But we finally running trains a small portion of the layout.  Love the pix this and every week.  Great fun.  Russ

Dustin - Wow!  Some really nice work!  I love detailed interiors on buildings.

Russ - That is looking super.  Isn't it a thrill to be able to run something?  Even if it's only  a short distance.
