Good morning everyone. Here are some photos of the public delivery track. It is busy today as people return their unwanted gifts.

My weekend subject for this first Friday of 2025 is New Haven Railroad EMD FL9 #2043. The model was made by Sunset/3rdRail in 2013. It’s the only O gauge model of an FL9 that has been made to date. It was available from Sunset in three road numbers - #2039 - #2043 and #2047.
Thirty FL9s entered service on the New Haven Railroad in 1956 and another thirty were delivered in 1960. All sixty had a Hancock air whistle mounted on the upper part of the windshield whose melodic sound is reproduced on the model as heard on the video.
During the Metro-North era, FL9s in the McGinnis red-black-white livery hauled commuter cars like those behind my model as pictured on my 12’-by-8’ layout.

I'm not quite ready to use my usual opening of "A yyyy Christmas layout memory" that I always use since my layout is still up and not yet just a memory.
So how about this line instead "This is the plan to create 2024 Christmas layout memories".
Lower level: 11' x 14', 2 DCS (the inner 2) and 1 traditional (the outer loop). The rectangle is where the "plateau" is going (next diagram)
Upper level. Very simple and just 1 conventional engine. 4' x 8' and will be entirely a winter scene. The in the circle is where my tree will be.
"memories" starting probably next Friday as I am expecting 2 families to visit to run trains with me.

In this video meet my wife as we have dinner on the Old Road Dinner Train. Along with checking out Lionel’s new SW 8 switcher witch is similar to the loco use by the Old Road Dinner Train.
Gary: Hope to see you out rail-fanning. 🚂
The C&O took control of the B&O in 1963 although they kept somewhat separate identities until the CSX merger. Around 1964/65 the C&O began sending older F units and excess passenger cars to the B&O. Some B&O passenger cars did temporarily come to the C&O including a short Sumbercoach service using B&O Slumbercoaches. With that in mind I added a GGD B&O Slumbercoach and a new GGD B&O 10-6 sleeper to my C&O passenger consist.

@Putnam Division, Peter I love the F9 well car Lionel made. I've got two of the C&O version that came out first. That NYC one is resplendent in jade green and has a nicer load than the empty cable reels that the C&O came with.
@trainroomgary, Nice video review of the new train and the dinner train.
New together are the Lionel Burlington Northern 50' box cars and the Atlas O Burlington Northern Bicentennial ACF cylindrical 6-bay covered hopper.
