Well not to much fun train stuff this weekend for me. Started packing up the layout to finally move. With having most stuff in boxes for some time you forgot what you have. Got another car weathered up this week as well.
Need to go back and add some lighter colors to the rust. Once on the layout it was just to much.

What is the location of the bridge in the second video?
I was on my way from Millford NJ to Belvedere NJ. I was just following the GPS. I’ve never been on that road before so not exactly sure where that is. I’ll try to retrace it.
The timetable post made me think about this dispatcher chart in my train room.
While I was up there I took a few pictures of other items.
Saturday 2-29-22 road trip to Jefferson Ia. beginning my train fanning in Blair Ne. Nice day but stiff south wind making it cold. First shot is a westbound crossing highway 91 just west of Blair. He is headed for Fremont on the ex C&NW line through Kennard Ne. and up over the hill. (Now UP) Then moving east toward Missouri Valley Ia. we have a typical RR crossing sign. This is on the line heading to Sioux City,(UP) which peels off from the main at California Junction. A shot of the junction. No town here just a bunch of houses littered with junk cars, treasures of all sorts and a few cattle and chickens. Old elevator. Then comes an eastbound stack train, plenty of power up front, none at the rear. He is moving fast here having just crossed the Missouri River bridge at Blair. Level river bottom here, Desoto Bend, much of which was covered with water a few years back when the Corps had to open up the dams upstream. He quickly left me in his wake until he stopped in downtown Missouri Valley for a crew change. I forge ahead, but soon he comes blowing past me. I am on US 30 heading east at the speed limit, 58 in a 55 zone. Then he slows to 45 for something which turns out to be a crossover so he can run left handed. A few pacing shots. I saw many trains in just a few hours. Mostly containers, but did see 3 of those mega trains with mixed freight. Pulling in at Jefferson Ia. I went to the trail which is the start of the Ia. market to market relay held in May. A nicely restored Depot, sorry no pic. Ex Milwaukee line from Des Moines to Spirit Lake Ia. Originally a Wabash, St. Louis, and Pacific narrow gauge. Now a multi-use trail. The post for the turntable remains along the trail about 400 yards south of the depot. The trail crosses the Racoon river about 2 miles south of the depot.
SOO LINE 703 GP30 diesel-electric locomotive with the smoke flowing out the stack.

Great pictures and videos this weekend. Been battling a cold all weekend, today spent most of the day asleep. I wish I wasn't worn out by this cold, was planning on doing a few things this weekend, but alas, what can you do.
