WEEKEND PHOTO FUN 5-28-21-??

Here are some photos of my new Lionel PRR E-7's. Color isn't quite right (too red), but they run well and sound great.

Neal, I ordered these too though mine haven't arrived yet. Guess they are held up at another station. The color does look good even if it may be a little too red. Having seen the real one at the museum a few times, this was a must have for me. I'm not a big diesel head, but when they look sleek and nice like these, hard to say no.

Also, I love the bridge crossing the creek. Was that a custom build by you or did you get one that was made? Not to many stone bridges(or concrete) by me, most are hard to get a look at on the BR&W as there is lots of overgrowth obstructing your view. One that is not to far away from me can be seen on a back road by a farm. It hasn't been in use since the early 1990's hence the overgrowth. Until they get the rails all fixed up, it is going to be a slow process heading back into Lambertville.

Off to a good start this morning gentlemen.  Neal, the units look good, to be honest I wouldn't have known if you hadn't of mentioned it, now you spoiled it, I thought they were a perfect match and good ol Lionel got it completely right for a change.   Nothing a little weathering wouldn't hurt, might just tone that "to red" down a little, I know, they tried to keep them nice and spiffy all the time but they still got some soot and dirt/dust and grime on them anyway.  They look nice anyway.

The PRR 2-10-4 letting off some steam. While I know the steam from the cylinders was not 100% correct it still enjoy this feature.

Hope yours show up soon. I'm not thrilled with the color, but please post what you think after yours arrive. The graphics and detailing are good however.

As to the bridge....I built that way back in 2000, but the scene was not completed until 2020! It would take a book to give all of the construction details, but it is a scale model of the bridge carrying the Middle Division over Tuscarora Creek right where it drains into the Juniata River. It is built out of 153 pounds of hydrocal plaster, and was built over the course of one year. It was very difficult to design and build since like the prototype, it is built on a curve.

Great stuff so far this week, everyone......I was in a Conrail mood this week......

Neal, the color may not be accurate but, IMO, it is striking in contrast to your green scenery and/or backdrop.

Marty, that has got to be one of the best captures of this effect I have seen. Whenever I am taking pictures of wildlife, sunsets, or anything else outside I always say I got lucky. This is masterful. Was this the first shot?

Arnold, your comment is right on target. If I use a Brunswick green engine in the picture, they really blend into the trees in the backdrop.

Two run homer - Great Conrail lash up and military theme for memorial day, well done sir!

A few misc diesel shots from the past. The UP PA set is MTH HO that are quite impressive little buggers - with smoke!

The switchers are all terrific and so are the scenes, scenery and layouts they appear in.

SIRT, I love the way you blend in the couplers so that they fit right in with the car. It takes away the oversized look.

a small tribute to the fallen...

I am truly excited today as I finally unboxed the Weaver Canadian Pacific Royal Hudson I acquired and got last Monday. Working and coming home having no time to really relax this was the perfect day to open up and take a look. I am in awe of this wonderful Weaver engine that I have not seen closer than 7 feet or so at York a few years ago when I was talking to some folks including Gunrunner John. This is number 1 out of 438 produced, and I will get it upgraded hopefully soon, I have to talk with Alex M to see what he thinks he can do. I know that MTH had made some passenger cars for the "Royal Visit" which I saw on Ebay. I think I will talk to Tony my local train dealer if he can get them elsewhere if possible. I'll have to see about a carpet run maybe next weekend as there is still so much to do today that needs getting done.
